Unemploy It of the Day: Work It, ABC’s transphobic Bosom Buddies ripoff, has been canceled effective immediately.

The universally reviled drag-com, which replaced the similarly boorish Man Up, will be pulled next week to make room for repeats of the network’s last remaining caveman procedural Last Man Standing (which appears headed for the exit itself).

Work It revolved around the misadventures of two unemployed men who dress up as women to look for work. Hilarity did not ensue.

Word of the cancellation comes less than a week after ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee defended the show’s treatment of transgender women. “We thought there was room for a very, very, very, very silly show,” he told reporters.

Thank Bob they got rid of this show. So short-sighted not to see that this was going to be problematic and down right offensive in a couple of different ways.
